Old Testament – Today in Numbers chapter 17 verse 8 we read how God stopped the questioning of the Israelite community about Aaron and his houses’ unique priestly authority – “When Moses went into the Tabernacle of the Covenant the next day, he found that Aaron’s staff, representing the tribe of Levi, had sprouted, blossomed, and produced almonds!”

The 2nd sentence in Numbers chapter 18 verse 20 stood out to me today: “And the LORD said to Aaron, “You priests will receive no inheritance of land or share of property among the people of Israel. I am your inheritance and your share.”  What a beautiful thing to hear from God!  I am your inheritance and your share.  In your life today, is God your inheritance and your share?  Do you want God to be your inheritance and share?  Does anything else at all compare to this glorious inheritance?

New Testament – Today we finish up the Gospel of Mark!  The Gospel of Luke starts tomorrow.  In Mark chapter 16 verse 6 is the key to our Christian faith: “The angel said, “Do not be so surprised. You are looking for Jesus, the Nazarene, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He has been raised from the dead!” Do you believe this angel’s proclamation?  Do you truly believe that Jesus rose from the dead?

Jesus’ resurrection is the key to the Christian faith.  The resurrection is the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy and of Jesus’ own statements.  The Christian faith stands or falls on the bodily resurrection of Jesus.  We can read more about this important point from Paul in 1 Corinthians 15.

5 Points That The Resurrection Guarantees:
1. Jesus was truly the Son of God. (Romans 1:4)
2. God the Father accepted what Jesus did at Calvary on the basis of the resurrection. (Romans 4:25)
3. Jesus as our Risen Lord pleads for his people before the Father. (Romans 8:34)
4. Believers have the hope of eternal life. (1 Peter 1:3-5)
5. Believers will also rise and have resurrected bodies like that of Jesus.  (1 Corinthians 15:49,Philippians 3:211 John 3:2)

Psalms – Today we read Psalm 55 verse 22, which is a beautiful reminder to all who believe in the risen Lord! “Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” Please do meditate on this verse a bit.  Do you make it a habit of giving your burdens to the Lord?  Or do you try to carry your burdens on your own strength?  Is there a burden you are carrying today that you can give to the Lord?  Will you?  And do you trust that he will take care of you and not permit you to slip and fall?

Proverbs – Proverbs chapter 11 verse 7 today teaches us:  “When the wicked die, their hopes die with them, for they rely on their own feeble strength.”  This is a great reminder of why we should not only not carry our burdens on our own, but we should also not rely on our own strength.  Our strength is passing…  Will you instead rely on the Eternal Strength that will never fail you?

Worship God: Psalm 55:22 above reminded me of the fun but great message song by Mercy Me called “So Long Self.”  Enjoy!

Have you said “so long self?”

Please join us in memorizing and meditating on a verse of Scripture this week: “”Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.” Mark 16:6 NIV

Prayer Point:

Pray that you will know truly in your heart that Jesus is risen and that He sits at the right hand of the Father until he comes again in Glory.

Comments from You & Questions of the Day:

Have you ever been strengthened by the Holy Spirit?

How are you able to discern when you are doing things from your own strength compared to when you are being strengthened by the Holy Spirit?

  1. N.T mark 16…yes I believe that Jesus rose from the dead…
tdy we hv new life thru Jesus Christ…our old has been buried wz Jesus and in His resurrection we hv a new life..we are born again
all are sins hv been washed by His precious blood…all are sickness hv been cleant and we hv become spotless in Him..

Psalm 55..all the verses are so meaningful and it gives a new dimension to my life..

When refer verse 13..Jesus is my companion, my close friend, enjoyed sweet fellowship….1cor 1 :9 God is faithful by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord
…Job intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out of tears to God

Verse 23 too reflects how God can take care of every things.. Cast your burdens… mt 11:28 “Come unto me all who are labor and are heavy laden I wl give u rest”

Are we relying on God or we are relying on our own…
we should not rely on our own strength and carry our own burden…but rely on eternal strength which never fails us.

    Prov 11 too inspires me…
    Remembering of some scriptures ..
Eph 6: 10 whr Paul tells us to be strong in the Lord and His mighty power…Paul tells us that unlimited power and strength of Christ are the source of strength for those who belong to Him.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Ph 4:13

I remember..As a kid, ever since I was in school, I’ve always been encouraged to “believe” in yourself and you can do anything.. to think that “I can do it” to have the attitude that ‘I can shape my own destiny” are you telling me this is wrong?

Believed that you “can do it” and you failed to successfully reach your goal…what would come out of that? The answer is you see depression, sadness, broken relationship, , anxiety, suicide and most important a decrease of faith in God.
Prov 3:5-6 Trust Lord, not lean on your own understanding. ..we all lean on our own understanding, depending on our own strength we fail to acknowledge him.

Trust in Him never ever depend on yourself or on your own strength, if you do so end up depending on your own ‘mere mortal’ self enemy will blur your vision, you will start blaming God, that is wasn’t there in time of need.

    Dear God
I pray that with your help, I will be an instrument for you and not take lead of my own life. Help us not to be the driver of our vehicle because we know that won’t turn out well but let you drive and trust in you with all of our hearts and in all of our ways.
help us to always give the glory back to you whenever someone gives us praise and take no ownership of anything, but lift your name up so that we can be a living testimony of yr love nd grace ..In Jesus name. .Amen

  2. O.T. verse 18:20…And the Lord said to Aaron….”
referring to this verse what God told Aaron… yes indeed God is our inheritance. ..

An inheritance of wealth, property or a title is typically handed down after a person dies but in God’s economy, His children have access to their inheritance everyday because He is their inheritance ! The Lord is our portion. He is all we need here on earth. Plus He has an inheritance for us in heaven that will not perish or fade.
Ps 16:5 Lord you alone are my inheritance. .my cup of blessing you guard all that is mine.

1pt 1:3-5, blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ according to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance that is imperishable undefiled and unfading kept in heaven for you.
