Old Testament – Today in Numbers chapter 2 we read about the organization of Israel’s camp!  For some reason I really like these types of chapters – chapters where we get what may seem at first glance to be “just a bunch of details” and maybe we even ask occasionally, “what’s the point?”  For me, the details are the point!

And not only that – but I have seasons of crazy disorganization in my house and in my life.  And I of course remember the old adage, “cleanliness is next to godliness….”  🙂  And yes, I guess I can at times feel guilty about my disorganization.  But, for some odd reason just this past few weeks I’ve been on an organization boost.  The house has been getting a serious cleaning.  I’m getting rid of stuff that I really really don’t need to keep.  And then I read chapters like this in Numbers, and I realize that God is a God of order.  He likes things organized.  And I think we as followers of God do well when we get things organized in our lives too – our housekeeping, our finances, how we spend our time, etc.  Now, don’t hear me say that you should be obsessive and compulsive about order… 🙂  But…  I am seeing amazing benefits in my life of being organized.

New Testament – In Mark chapter 12 we read Jesus’ profound Parable of the Tenants, which exposes the planned attempt on Jesus’ life. At the end of the parable Jesus quotes from Psalm 118 verses 22 & 23 when he says in Mark chapter 12 verse 10: “Haven’t you read this scripture: “‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?”” I have heard some awesome sermons on this verse – about how our Christian lives should be based upon and aligned with the true foundational Cornerstone – and that cornerstone being Jesus Christ. Do you believe that Jesus is the cornerstone of Christianity? Is Jesus the cornerstone of your life? Do you align your life with Jesus’ teachings? Do you live your life based on being in alignment with the true Cornerstone – the only Cornerstone – Jesus? Will you pray to Jesus that He will be your Cornerstone now and forever?

Today we also read about Jesus’ teaching of giving Caesar what belongs to him. Jesus said in verses 15 through 17 – “Show me a Roman coin…” When they handed it to him, he asked, “Whose picture and title are stamped on it?” “Caesar’s,” they replied. “Well, then,” Jesus said, “give to Caesar what belongs to him. But everything that belongs to God must be given to God.” This reply completely amazed them.”

Psalms – Psalm 47 is an awesome Psalm!  I can almost hear and feel music and a drum beat as I read this Psalm today!  This Psalm was used in later Jewish synagogue liturgies for Rosh Hashanah, the New Year Festival.  This Psalm has also been used by the Christian church in the Celebration of Jesus’ ascension, in particular with emphases on verse 5 – “God has ascended with a mighty shout. The LORD has ascended with trumpets blaring.”  Do you hear and feel the music as you read this Psalm?

Proverbs – Proverbs 10 verse 25 is a verse for each of us to meditate upon a bit – “Disaster strikes like a cyclone, whirling the wicked away, but the godly have a lasting foundation.”  Do you have a lasting foundation?  Do you have a Cornerstone?

Worship God: Today’s Psalm reminded me of the fantastic worship song “You Reign” by Mercy Me:

Please join us in memorizing and meditating on a verse of Scripture today: “Jesus said to them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” Mark 12:17 NIV

Prayer Point:

Pray that you would give your heart, mind, soul and strength to God today, and not to worldly things.

As we refect the chp mark 12: 10 the corner stone…can we reflect are . .hv we made our lives secured on the foundation….we often ask ourselves who is are foundation And wht is foundation .lets go to Mt 7:24-27 abt a wise nd foolish man building his house…whn we read this we really look at our selves are we foolish or wise..that is whn we look at prov 10 :25 whn wicked are gone when storm but righteous stand firm…
Jesus is our foundation. .who ever believe s and walk in righteousness wl not fall apart but one who does make Jesus their foundation wl break apart the wicked wl rule.
‘Jesus is our rock nd fortress’
    ‘He is our savior’

The verse that stands out is mark 11:27- 33..the authority of Jesus… when we walk in Jesus we too have the same authority what Jesus had..and no wicked can stand firm against us…

Tdy we’re gng to look at God’s characteristics of orderliness. .in book of Lev and Num..we see how God instruct moses and Aaron to follow the order..llike offering sacrificficial offering, instructions for priest or how to cut animals for sacrifice, reg the tent, synagogue, furnishing, dress etc..every thing was as per His order.

What u nd I should not miss is that contained in all these details is God’s profound quality of order. In Hebrew to describe “order” ..it is the word “frame”
Ps 119:133 “order my steps in thy word; and let not any iniquity have dominion over me”
In other words David asks God to “frame” his steps so that nothing unrighteous will rule or dominiate over him..

God longed to bring His children from the sorrow of Egyptian servitude to the Joy of Heavenly liberty and so He infused their lives with the power of Divine Order.

This is exactly what God does in Lev nd Num out of disunity He brought harmony and out of chaos He brought order.

Aswe go back to Gen 1 nd 2 we read abt the “order” that us evident as God created this earth whc was created in systematic arrangements the method that followed an orderly pattern nd plan. ..so several thds years after earth’s creation thefather of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob dippedinto His well of creative order and took over millions people and designed an orderly plan for taking a grp of slaves and forming them into nations thru whom the saviour of the world came to earth.

God is a God of order..1 cor 14:40.. but all things should b done decently and in order”
God wants us exactly to b same..to b in order..whn we make our lives in order..plan it as per God In systematic arrangements. .our Lives are framed and there is blessings and harmony.

The verse that stood out for me today is Proverbs 10:25
When the storm ends, the wicked vanish, but the righteous person is forever firm.

Yes our God is a God of order and we too as His children need to be people of order. We also need to set our priorities right, God being the first and then followed by whatever we need the most next. If our priorities are in order, that is putting God above everything else and our every other need, each and every aspect of our lives will automatically tend to fall in order and be more organized.

Jesus is definitely the cornerstone of Christianity and we all need to align ourselves with that cornerstone so that we all stand firm in Him till the very end! But sadly today many of us align ourselves with the wrong cornerstone. Many of us nowadays get distracted and give more importance to other things rather than focusing on Jesus. It may be fame, name, power or status, but aligning ourselves to any other cornerstone other than Christ will eventually destroy us and our relationship with God! We should earnestly pray for ourselves and our fellow brothers that God may provide us with wisdom and strength through the Holy Spirit to align ourselves with the right cornerstone, that is none other than Jesus and that also through our faith and alignment may we be a blessings to others!
